Each wildkind candle is hand-poured with a custom blend of cruelty free beeswax, sustainable coconut, soy, and RSPO palm wax. Every wax brings its own gift to the candle and to your home:

Beeswax naturally purifies the air and lends a gentle honey glow; coconut enhances scent throw, soy creates a creamy, even texture; and palm gives structure for a slow, balanced burn. Together, they create a luminous harmony—clean, stable, and gorgeous to the very last light.

We do not use any synthetic fragrances in our candles. We are committed to bring beautiful aromas without the toxins—that’s why we chose to use the natural essences of Mother Nature to scent our candles. Essential oils carry the life force of the plant: sunlight, soil, water, transformation. By using essential oils and non-synthetic fragrance, we are inviting true botanical energy into the space. A side soapbox on synthetic fragrances, and why it should matter to you:

Synthetic fragrances or fragrance/parfume, as it’s often listed on ingredient labels, can contain up to 3,000 different chemicals, including stabilizers, solvents, and preservatives—many of which are not required to be safety tested for inhalation or long-term exposure. Many synthetic fragrance compounds—like phthalates, aldehydes, and synthetic musks, can irritate the lungs, throat, and sinuses, especially for people with asthma, allergies, or chemical sensitivities. Certain synthetic fragrance ingredients, particularly phthalates (often used to make scenst last longer) are known endocrine disruptors. They can interfere with hormone balance and have been linked in studies to reproductive and developmental effects. In addition, when synthetic candles burn, they can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde into the air—the same kind of pollutants found in household paints and plastics. These compounds contribute to poor indoor air quality and can linger long after the candle is extinguished.

If those facts weren’t enough, synthetic fragrances have a negative environmental impact as well. Synthetic ingredients are largely derived from petrochemicals, meaning they come from non-renewable fossil fuels. During production and disposal, these compound can contaminate waterways and soil, and many do not biodegrade easily.

Essential oils are the pure, concentrated essences of plants–their aromatic life force captured through careful distillation or cold pressing. Each drop contains the plant’s unique chemistry and spirit—the same compounds that protect a leaf, attract a bee, or carry a flower’s fragrance on the wind. These oils are nature’s own language of scent—complex, alive, and rich with therapeutic properties that can calm, uplift, or ground us. When used in candles, essential oils don’t just perfume the air, they invite the energy of the earth, flower, or tree into your space—a true union of fire and plant medicine. Essential oils are the breath of the earth—distilled sunlight, roots and rain—released anew through fire.

At WildKind, we chose wooden wicks for a reason: they’re beautiful, sustainable, and they bring a quiet wild bit of magic to every burn. Our wicks are made from all-natural, untreated wood sourced here in the USA—no metals, no additives, no animal by-products, and never any animal testing.

Through our trusted supplier, we use wicks crafted from wood sourced at Forest Stewardship Council–certified mills. It’s our way of choosing ingredients that honor the land that shaped them.

And then there’s the sound—the delicate crackle of a tiny hearth, weaving a ribbon of warmth and wilderness into the air.

Our candles are scented with essential oils only, not synthetic fragrance enhancers. The result is a beautiful, true to nature aroma that infuses the space gently, creating calm rather than overpowering. Think of it as breathing in a forest, not a perfume counter. That said, our candles have exceptional cold and hot throw. But just remember, nature whispers—it doesn’t shout.

Exact burn times vary by fragrance due to the unique properties of each essential oil. However all of our candles have been burn tested to 60+ hours.

• trim the wick to ¼ inch before lighting. This keeps the wick from falling into the wax, which would “muddy” the wax.

• allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges during your first burn (this prevents tunneling and creates an even burn)

• keep away from fans and drafts

• extinguish after 2-3 hours, let cool and trim the wick before relighting. This will help keep your wax free from wick debris and prevent sooting.

Yes—wooden wicks are alive with character. Like a tiny hearth fire, they sometimes exhale a soft breath of smoke as the flame finds its rhythm. This is natural and safe. Wildkind candles are made with pure, toxin-free waxes and essential oils, so even when the flame flickers or smokes for a moment, it’s still clean burning by every standard. To keep your flame at its best, trim the wich to 1/8 inch and burn away from drafts. The rest is simply the dance of fire.

Our candles are cruelty-free and made without animal testing of any kind. While we do use natural beeswax, it’s sourced from ethical beekeepers who care for their hives with reverence and reciprocity. Bees are our quiet collaborators in the alchemy of light, and it’s vital to treat them with that same devotion.

Once your candle has burned down to about ½ inch of wax, simply warm the vessel slightly in a small pot of simmering water {if you choose to microwave, be sure to remove the metal wick clip} and wipe it clean. A little alcohol will remove any residue or lingering essence. It’s perfect for holding small plants, fresh flowers, or dried herbs—or as a keepsake container for jewelry, matches, or stones. We use untreated eco-friendly wooden wicks sourced from FSC-certified wood. They create that signature soft crackle—reminiscent of a campfire—and burn evenly without metal cores or harmful additives. What began as a search for a candle I could actually breathe around became the heart of wildkind—clean, conscious, plant-based light. Our blends are free from synthetic dyes, parabens, and artificial fragrance oils, and are scented only with pure essential oils and natural extracts—never synthetic perfumes.
